The code:
<div style="text-align:center">Alternative Lifestyle. Copy and paste the above code into your journal and leave a comment to show your support for diversity of distro!

Update: Thanks to [info]oopsz and [info]adcott for their improvements & more compatible html. Also, much thanks to [info]brad for hosting it on Livejournal.com!

Several of you have been asking about Slack. Unfortunately, Dobbsheads just don't look good smaller than 50 pixels, so I've made this:

Bob says:

Slack is love.

Created with The GIMP, of course.

Let me guess... someone is going to come up with a "Microsoft is the Only Way" one?

No, because getting it out requires showing the source code, and we all know how MS feels about that. Remember, viewing the raw html is a violation of the DMCA. ;)

I saw this posted over in [info]linux, which brought me here. I have to warn you, village photo's is the suck for an image host. I give it an hour & you will have run out of bandwidth; then no images for anyone.

Suggested free image hosting sites (from an LJ image community info page):

Netscape- "You will receive 20 megs of space to do WHATEVER you want with, the only catch is that you have to set up your own website"
The Village Photographer- "I guess it works, but they offer almost no bandwidth to users, stay away"
Photo Navy- "Some swear by it, others have found it exceptionally hard to use"
Bare Lens- "Okay, but can be oddly puritannical about what they host. Pics must be approved by the site"
Snapfish- "Easy to work with, though it can be confusing at the start, no approval, anything goes"
HP Photo- "Anything but explicit sex or penises. Great for hosting solo female photography, FREE, easy to use."
Fotopic- "Great pic hosting, lots of space and free. Only bad thing is they put a small banner across the bottom of the pics. I think it's worth it though!"
PhotoIsland
Newending Studios

A good point; thank you! I wasn't sure if the meme would spread. I've just uploaded the image to 1and1, who offers enough bandwidth to keep everyone covered.

Umm, SUSE is ubercool these days, thanks to the Novell-Ximian-IBM trifecta, and giving the digitus impudicus to certain SCOmbags. Red Hat is the one who wants to be piggy about it.

I somewhat take offense to "Alternative Lifestyle".

"Alternative" indicates that it can be switched to and away from if so chosen. "Lifestyle" is how one lives. ...

nevermind. i'm sure a flame war could start from this.

Re:

Right, so I live in a particular way - the linux way.

I chose to switch away from another lifestyle, the way I lived my life before: The windows lifestyle.

life-style
n : a manner of living that reflects the person's values and
            attitudes [syn: {life style}, {lifestyle}, {modus vivendi}]

My values are open source, and my attitudes are those of freedom. Before, they were not. How is that not a lifestyle?
